As close friends and musical collaborators, Lauren Tsamouras & Tom Avgenicos explore their shared interest in Greek folk music, contemporary jazz and lush electronic soundscapes. Their debut release 'For Judy' commissioned by ABC Jazz, features compositions of the legendary Australian/New Zealand pianist and educator Judy Bailey.  Through electroacoustic reimaginings and reinterpretations of her work, the album is a loving tribute to one of Australia's most important musical figures.

 

Their latest EP 'Bye For Now' features their original works, recorded in approximately two hours at ABC Studios in Ultimo, Eora/Sydney. It was captured at the end of a long day in the studio — tired, but deeply immersed in the flow of recording. The EP is mostly made up of one-take wonders; the album is loose and, at times, raw, but it stands as an honest and intimate reflection of that moment.
 

The compositions unfold through gradually evolving motifs and simple song structures, creating a flexible framework for intimate, dynamic musical dialogue. This interplay is enriched by a lush electronic sound world.
